Wilo-ClimaForm 'shells' for pump housings

Wilo (UK) has introduced Wilo-ClimaForm - a prefabricated system of 'shells' for pump housings, to prevent condensation in cold water applications - ideal in cooling and air conditioning scenarios.
In all systems where cold water circulates, the moisture in the air around them condenses on cold surfaces, and this clearly can have unwelcome consequences.
Water can soak into insulating materials and also, longer term, can attack metal components causing significant corrosion problems and associated equipment failures.
The solution has been to try and provide some form of diffusion-proof insulation for the pump housing, but until now this has been virtually impossible because of the complex nature of the products involved.
Because the insulation was usually, at best, ill fitting, there has been the risk of leaks detracting significantly from the attraction of even attempting to provide such insulation.
Wilo-ClimaForm is the answer to these problems.
It's available now as a standard accessory for Wilo-Stratos and Wilo-TOP-S series pumps.
It is made from the flexible elastomer AF/Armaflex and is extremely resistant to water vapour diffusion.
It can cope with temperatures of fluids circulating in the pump between minus 20 and plus 105 degrees Celsius.
Wilo (UK) Sales Manager Dan Wild says it's a valuable additional tool for the company to offer to customers: "The Wilo-ClimaForm products precisely match the geometry of the pump housings, minimising the amount of enclosed air and moisture".
"All connecting screws of the motor and pump housings remain fully and easily accessible for servicing work".
"The product offers a useful additional option to engineers working in the cooling and air conditioning sectors in particular, but for anyone looking to install a pump where condensation is likely to present a problem.".
