Leading German pump manufacturer Wilo AG announce further acquisition that will add significantly to companies UK presence, particularly in London and south east.

Leading German pump manufacturer Wilo AG has announced a further acquisition that will add significantly to the companies UK presence, particularly in London and the south east.

Wilo acquired Deptford-based CCD Pumps Limited on 21st December 2006, a move that saw 60 members of the CCD team joining the Wilo Group.

Already a significant player in the British HVAC pump marketplace, the Wilo Group owns both a sales and manufacturing facility in the UK and supplies a huge number of heating circulators to British homes.

Wilo's new acquisition will see it substantially growing its technical services offering to the Building Services and water and wastewater sectors and improve's the Group's capability to supply and service a growing customer base that increasingly demands complete packaged pumping solutions.

CCD specialises in packaged plant installations - in particular for pressure boosting sets - and offers an established maintenance and service contract business predominantly in London and the Home Counties.

CCD will continue to operate under its established branding for the foreseeable future, with Wilo UK managing director Stuart Herritty taking the role of managing director of the new acquisition with immediate effect: "We plan to integrate the CCD operation into the Wilo network very gently".

"We believe that in the short to medium term, CCD's works and packaged plant activities should continue to operate very much as they have done prior to the acquisition".

Three of the former shareholders, Ian Austin, Paul McMullan and Barry Phillips will continue in their current roles with their established functional responsibilities.

The board of directors of Wilo AG and Wilo UK will ensure a smooth integration and alignment with the existing UK distribution channels and after sales service and they extend a warm welcome to all the new Wilo group employees.
