Wilo pump for thermal solar installations

Wilo-Stratos ECO-ST is designed especially for use in solar water heating and for domestic heating systems.

For many years, Wilo has produced excessively low current, high-efficiency pumps for heating and cooling installations as well as for secondary hot water circulation, ensuring that the cost of electricity to drive these pumps has been reduced - by up to 80%.

For the first time, Wilo now has a high-efficiency pump for thermal solar installations in its product range.

Wilo-Stratos ECO-ST is designed especially for use in solar water heating and for domestic heating systems.

Until now, conventional small circulator heating pumps have been specified and used for solar thermal installations, pumps with power profiles that were not optimally adjusted to this specific use.

As a result, the pumps used unnecessarily high amounts of energy, clearly counterproductive when the key benefit of using solar energy is to be environmentally friendly and to create fewer emissions! The ST (solar thermal) version of the Wilo Stratos ECO has a 0-10 V interface which allows complete integration of the pump into the system control.

The pump is controlled by the solar controller on the basis of the temperature difference between the collector and the hot water storage vessel.

The new pump features EC motor technology and like Wilo's other popular high-efficiency pumps - the Stratos and Stratos-ECO series - consumes up to 80% less power than uncontrolled pumps.

Due to its very low power consumption of only 5.8W in no-load operation, further electricity savings will be achieved.

Inn addition, the EC motor has a three times higher starting torque.

A standard cataphoretic coating of the cast iron prevents corrosion and in addition, Stratos-ECO-ST is also available with a red brass housing, for utilisation in drain back systems.
