Worcester and the IPHE will also sponsor 1,500 student trainees on the College Links Programme with a year's free membership to the Institute.

The IPHE will also invest GBP60,000 worth of Plumbing Design Guide Guides, one to each student trainee member free of charge.

In addition, Institute trainee members who renew their membership for a second year will be awarded a voucher which can be exchanged for attendance at one of Worcester's condensing boiler installation courses.

Trainees who renew for a third year will receive three vouchers for a 25%, 50% and 100% discount off the cost of any Worcester training courses.

In order to promote the uptake of professional development and encourage the retention of IPHE trainee members, Worcester has offered of number of training events to Institute members.

Worcester will provide 40 free places on solar training courses in January 2008.

Martyn Bridges, director of marketing and technical support at Worcester, said: "We are very excited about this joint initiative with the IPHE and feel it is mutually beneficial.

We are very keen to help support installers and the installers of the future at all levels and provide them with greater development opportunities.

This will also be valuable for raising the profile of the Institute".

Blane Judd, chief executive of the IPHE, said: "This partnership with Worcester is a great start to the 'Expect to see IPHE' promotion which we will be launching in 2008.

The aim is to encourage more people to recognise the need to use professionally qualified plumbing and heating engineers and leave the cowboys no place to operate.

This initiative will contribute to reductions in warranty returns and help protect the environment by making sure that customers are supplied with the right products for their lifestyle choice and for the good of the environment.

"I hope that other manufacturers, suppliers and water companies will join this initiative in the coming year for the benefit of the customer and the planet.

We are very keen to promote professionalism through new members, especially those who represent the future of the industry and this is another great way for us to do this. Request free introductory details about products from Worcester Bosch Group ...
