CORGI accolade for ECO installer

Winner of Worcester, Bosch Group's Environment 2010 Awards for 2007, Andy Buchan of AJ Buchan , was also named ' Energy Efficiency Installer of the Year' at the CORGI Awards.

Andy, who opened his own 'Efficient Energy Centre' in the Cotswolds earlier this year, has won both titles on the strength of a number of projects he has carried out to install high efficiency condensing boilers and renewable technologies.

The awards are also testament to his passionate approach to spreading the word about the benefits of 'greener' heating and hot water solutions.

Often specifying Worcester's Greenskies solar panels and Greenstore ground source heat pumps, Andy has already helped many a customer make a difference to their monthly heating bills.

And, whilst greater efficiency and improved running costs are a bonus for the homeowner, each installation is also designed to make a contribution toward reducing CO2 emissions and protecting the environment.

On receiving his most recent award, Andy said: "To be selected as CORGI's 'Energy Efficiency Installer of the Year' was a pleasant shock, to say the least.

"Over the past 2 years we have been proactive in promoting energy efficiency and now find it paying off in a number of ways.

Winning the CORGI award for 'Energy Efficiency Installer of the Year' was really something but as well as the trophies we are also getting a great deal of satisfaction from educating adults and youngsters alike about the importance of preserving our planet's resources for generations to come.

"In April 2007, we opened our very own 'Efficient Energy Centre' in the Cotswolds with a showroom displaying a range of green and renewable technologies suitable for domestic situations.

We have working solar panels and a ground source heat pump installed, all of which help bring the concept of obtaining heat from sustainable sources to life for visitors.

"Following on from our success in Worcester's Environment 2010 awards earlier this year, the CORGI award will help us to continue to raise the profile of our business.

Furthermore, both CORGI and Worcester are well respected household names within the heating market and having our awards in the showroom can only add more credibility to our crusade.".
