Worcester warns of boiler benchmark changes

A Bosch Thermotechnology product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Aug 27, 2010

Worcester, Bosch Group is advising installers that plans to tighten the rules on benchmarking checklists could mean they invalidate boiler warranties if they fail to complete the necessary paperwork.

The advice comes ahead of the Heating and Hot Water Industry Council's (HHIC) planned changes which come into force on January 1st 2011.

Currently, the completion of a benchmark checklist is one such way of complying with the legal requirements of the building regulations.

Under the planned changes, householders will find their boiler warranties invalidated if their installer has failed to complete a full benchmark checklist, which forms part of the new boiler installation instructions.

Once the benchmark checklist has been filled in, the installer has to enter their Gas Safe Registration number for the checklist to be completed, before handing it to the householder.
