Self Build Saturday success for Wolseley
Wolseley's first Self Build Saturday proved a huge success, with more than 100 self builders attending the event at its Sustainable Building Center.
The Self Build event attracted all types of enthusiasts, from those embarking on their first project to experienced professionals.
Wolseley's Sustainable Building Center provided the backdrop for visitors to experience a vast array of sustainable products and renewable technologies in their working environment.
Manufacturers including Worcester Bosch, Ibstock, Castle, Finnforest and Titan were all on hand to answer questions and talk about the practical applications of their products.
Buildstore, the National Self Build and Renovation Center, presented seminars on financing a self build project, while Wolseley's dedicated Self Build account managers were on hand to look over plans, discuss project options and explain the benefits of a Wolseley Self Build Trade credit account.
Self build is a growing solution for many because of its scope, and the flexibility it allows in terms of design, materials and cost.
Tony Nicholls, visitor to Self Build Saturday, said: "Work gets underway on my self-build project in early 2009, so the event was a really good opportunity to talk to the experts, in particular find out about the benefits of my Wolseley trade card.
"Seeing the products in-situ reinforced my plans to include a ground source heat pump and rainwater harvesting system in my project".
Tim Pollard, Wolseley's head of sustainability, said: "Self Build Saturday proved to be another extremely successful event at the SBC.
The day enabled us to show customers at first-hand the variety of sustainable products which are available through Wolseley's nationwide branch network and would be suitable for their individual project".
One lucky visitor won GBP100 of Wolseley vouchers to help them get started on their project.
Wolseley also launched its new self build brochure detailing the range of products available through Wolseley's integrated supply chain for each stage of a self build project.
