Grade II listed Holy Trinity Church at Walton Breck, Liverpool now has a spacious and dry new community centre, created from a damp and dilapidated crypt using Kontract membrane from Wykamol.

The GBP1.65milion project, funded by the European Regional Development Fund, spans the whole footprint of the building as well as a new two-storey extension - some 500sq m in total.

Subcontractor Professional Remedial Services, for main contractor McGoff and Byrne, applied Kontract 20mm to the floor and 8mm to the walls, all tied into a single piece for a complete seal.

The 8mm continued up to the church roofline as the walls were damp throughout.

PRS Managing Director Robert Newman said: "We've been using Wykamol membranes for over ten years".

"In this case, it has meant a lot less preparation time, both saving on cost and enabling us to complete the process within three weeks as specified.".
