High performance assured in floors
New Hyfloor 75 from Xtratherm offers superior thickness to performance ratio enabling housebuilders and developers to achieve target insulation levels without changing build practices.
A substantial proportion of heat loss is through the floor in a typical house and Hyfloor 75 provides one of the most effective methods of reducing this loss without changing traditional build practices Developed in response to the new 2006 standards, which are designed to improve the thermal efficiency of floors, Hyfloor 75 will enable housebuilders to achieve a U-value of between 0.20 and 0.22 W/K in a typical floor

Xtratherm guide to fitting floor insulation
Buildings can lose a significant amount of heat through un-insulated floors, which is why fitting floor insulation is really important.
The convenience offered by Hyfloor 75 is that by using the 75mm thickness it not only meets the new building regulations but ties in perfectly with the brick coursing, dispensing with the need for costly soap bars that would be required if thicker, less efficient insulation materials were used.
The product features a high compressive strength which is ideal for fitting below the floor slab or underneath the floor screed.
The innovative tongue and groove jointing to the long edges, when fitted with perimeter insulation, also provides for accredited detailing, in line with the latest regulations.
It will also appeal to contractors because it is extremely easy to handle, cut and to fit, and performance has been certified by BBA.
This distinctive branding used on Hyfloor 75 also means it is very easy to identify the boards when they are delivered to site.
Danny Kearney Technical Manager, explains: "This is one of the most exciting developments in flooring insulation for many years.
It has been specifically designed to meet the needs of contractors and developers for an innovative high performance system that satisfies all relevant regulations.
Danny Kearney continues: "Hyfloor is just one of a whole suite of innovative new products we have released recently that makes it easier to meet not only current but also future building performance requirements.
"Xtratherm provides a comprehensive range of wall, roof and floor insulation products specifically designed to meet Building Regulations and the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
All products are manufactured under quality systems approved under EN ISO 9001: 2000 along with ISO14001 and ISO18001 certification.
