Waterloo supplies air terminals for heliport hotel

Diffusers from Waterloo Air Products have been used extensively throughout Hotel Verta, Europe's first integrated hotel heliport solution.

The five-star Hotel Verta is the first hotel in London is part of the award winning Weston Homes development at Bridges Wharf in Battersea.

Along with the hotel, the development comprises luxury apartments and penthouses in three iconic towers, and is situated on the south bank of the River Thames, adjoining The London Heliport.

Functionality and performance combined with aesthetic considerations were imperative as the air terminal devices are in full view and had to complement the modern design and high quality build of the hotel.

Waterloo was specified as the sole supplier for air terminal devices and has supplied swirl and louvre faced diffusers in addition to bespoke designed straight and curved slot linear diffusers.

The louvre faced diffusers offer a clean visual appeal with unbroken lines, while the swirl diffusers provide an attractive and aerodynamic alternative to conventional circular or square ceiling diffusers.

A notable feature is the substantial custom-built curved slot diffuser measuring 84mmx18m in the ceiling above the bar.

This replicates the bar's own curvature and is back-lit for a more dramatic effect.

Curved slot diffusers have a high air handling capacity, strong coanda effect for good low flow performance, hidden flow control vanes for consistent facial appearance and continuous joint detail.
