Yeoman Rainguard XL Range Combats Heavy Rainfall
The industry's rainwater specialist, Yeoman Rainguard has launched a new range of oversized gutters and pipes designed to combat heavy seasonal rainfall.
Rainguard's XL range has been developed to cope with high levels of rainfall that have become a feature of British autumn and winter months.
The effects of climate change have been underscored by the Met Office, which reports October's rainfall as 70% above the 1961 to 1990 average.
Despite this, many 'off-the-shelf' rainwater systems available on the market are based on pre-war sizes, at a time when conserving rainwater was not an issue.
They also tend to be a one-size-fits-all variety, giving very limited options on profile or style of gutter or pipe.
In response to the general lack of high capacity rainwater products on the market, Yeoman Rainguard has introduced the XL range, which is available in six different profiles offering protection for up to 25 years.
The product is UV stabilised, which means there's no colour fading in the sun and therefore no painting is required.
Each of the guttering profiles are also available with a complementary range of square or rounded downpipes.
Phil Christopher, sales director at Yeoman Rainguard says: "If a rainwater system is unable to cope with high rainfall during severe weather conditions, maintenance can become problematic and the condition of buildings may be compromised.
"Clearly climate change is an issue which isn't going away for the foreseeable future, which is why architects, specifiers and selfbuilders are turning to products such as XL for a more durable and reliable solution." Utilising the latest in snap fix joint technology, the XL range offers huge advantages in terms of speed of installation.
The gutters are designed to be fixed direct to the fascia board thus removing the need for fascia brackets.
The system also benefits end users with no maintenance required other than periodical cleaning out.
Yeoman Rainguard XL gutters are supplied in standard 3m, 2m lengths, while XL pipes are also available in these sizes along with a shorter 1m option, complete with socket.
All gutters and accessories are finished in textured polyester powder coating supplied in standard black, white and lead grey colours.
For specific orders, Yeoman Rainguard can also manufacture to any BS or RAL colour.
