Welsh HVACR Awards boost from Yorkshire

Winners of the Welsh Training Group HVACR Awards 2006 were recently presented with their trophies in an event sponsored by Yorkshire Fittings.

Moore (Mechanical and Ventilation) , Chairman of the SummitSkills/HVCA Welsh Training Group, who also announced the winners in each of the six categories.
The title of Domestic Heating and Plumbing Engineer went to Clive Owen, in an award presented by Yorkshire Fittings' National Sales Manager David Brown.
Clive was chosen as the winner following his achievements at Deeside College and through his traineeship with North Wales Heating.
Clive has passed his Technical Certificate and NVQs Levels 2 and 3, as well as achieving a number of ACS Gas Qualifications.
The other award winners were Robert White of Almac Engineering (Ductwork), Andrew Griffiths of TDG UK (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning), Andrew Foxall of N.G.
Bailey and Co , formerly of Rotary Northwest (Commercial and Industrial HandV), CMB Engineering and GGT Thomas and Son (Joint Employer Awards), and Adam Robinson of Lorne Stewart plc (Chairman's Award).
All were presented with an engraved trophy to commemorate their success.
The event was organised by the HVCA - the industry body representing the interests of firms active in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) products and equipment.
Speaking about the awards, Yorkshire Fittings' David Brown said, "As an Affiliate of the HVCA, it's important for Yorkshire Fittings to support events such as this, which recognise the skills, determination and dedication of the people within our industry".
"The Millennium Centre is a fantastic venue in which to celebrate the achievements of the award winners".
The Welsh Training Group Awards are one of several awards ceremonies taking place throughout the UK, with winners having the chance to be nominated for the SummitSkills Building Services National Training Awards, due to take place in March 2007.
