ZapKey has just released details of its new innovative Centry state of the art wireless remote control home locking system.

Limerick based company ZapKey has just released details of its new innovative Centry state of the art wireless remote control home locking system While remote central locking has been available for some years on luxury cars, it has not been seen in the domestic housing market

Until now that is.

Utilising cutting edge wireless electronics, ZapKey has taken the best remote locking technology available and has significantly further enhanced its capabilities, to provide an ultra convenient and highly secure new lock for the front door.

At a single touch of a button on the sleek, attractive and lightweight key fob, the door can be locked or unlocked in a fraction of a second from up to 25m away.

An audible signal and a visible LED light confirm the action of the dead bolt system each time it is activated.

Up to fifteen key fobs can be uniquely programmed to each lock, making this an ideal lock for a family situation.

These key fobs carry up to 3.8 billion rolling code combinations, effectively rendering the signal useless to anyone trying to copy it, and ensuring that there is no interference from other nearby locks.

Centry locks are primarily intended for home use but are suited to office and light industrial applications also.

They are also ideally suited to those suffering from impaired mobility.

The power consumption of this lock is so low that under the consumer can expect that the batteries will last for up to a year before needing replacement.

In much the same way that a smoke alarm emits a low battery warning, so does the Centry.

Should the consumer fail to change the batteries in time, the lock is fitted with an optional manual external key override for emergency use, and also features a push button open and close facility on the inside.

ZapKey's Centry lock affords the busy householder all the convenience of the central locking we have become accustomed to in our cars.

Gone are the heavy, pocket tearing keys; gone is the struggle on the door step in the rain with the shopping and the children while searching for the door key to get in.

Now you can simply "zap" the door open as you approach, or closed as you leave.

In addition, the ZapKey product is more secure than many standard front door locks currently available.

Using a dead bolt instead of a latch mechanism significantly lessens the risk of forced entry.

In addition, the Centry lock features a patented electronic spring mechanism which automatically returns the dead bolt to its fully locked position when it senses an attempted forced or unauthorised entry.

The ZapKey Centry lock has a sleek modern design that will not look out of place on any front door.

It can be easily retrofitted onto an existing door in less than half an hour, or can be specified at the time of construction.

The attractive key fobs will also prove popular amongst those who have them, and will fast become most wanted items amongst those who do not.

Over the recent holiday weekend, ZapKey was officially launched onto the Irish market at the Ideal Homes exhibition in Dublin.

This is Ireland's biggest, best attended and most influential homes and interiors show, with in excess of 200 exhibitors, and over 40,000 visitors during the five days.

ZapKey exhibited their new Centry remote control electronic door locks at the show and received an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the product.

ZapKey's Director of Sales and Marketing, Peter Brewitt explains; "We thought there would be a good reaction to the Centry, but it exceeded our wildest expectations".

"Everyone is really excited about the product, and many people have said they have wanted something like this for years".

"There has been tremendous feed back from across all sectors of society, the young, the old and the disabled".

"We are really happy".

"We sold almost all the locks we brought with us to the show, and have received further enquiries since we came home".

"We have also had calls from people wanting to act as agents for us".

The show was a tremendous success for ZapKey affording the opportunity to introduce it's Centry lock to the general public as well as to members of the locksmiths trade, builders, architects and property developers.

The reaction of all visitors to the ZapKey stand was unanimously positive, with many people taking advantage of the special price offer for orders placed for Centry locks during the show.

ZapKey has also received distribution agency offers since the show, and website activity has seen a significant increase too.

ZapKey was also featured on a special Ideal Homes edition of the "Nationwide" programme on Irish national television.
