A College for Estate Management product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Oct 27, 2009

The College of Estate Management's Academic Support Team has been accredited with the Matrix Standard.

The Matrix Standard is the national quality mark that recognises the support that organisations provide to overcome barriers to achievement and advancement, such as the provision of guidance for distance learning.

The College of Estate Management (CEM) is the leading provider of supported distance education for real estate and construction professionals.

It is the largest source of chartered surveyors in the world.

The college is based in Reading yet all of its 4,000 students work through a virtual learning environment with 30 per cent of them overseas.

Support provided by tutors and administrators covers; assignments, exams, technical issues, and access to library resources and online materials.

Students have access to programmes and learning resources including video tutorials, diagnostic tests, summary texts and exercises.

Each student is assigned a course administrator as a personal guide and advisor and the administrator acts as mentor, providing pastoral support, liaison with tutors, advice on study options, or is there to listen to academic problems.
