Solar power applied to bollard lighting

A Zeta Solar product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Dec 14, 2007

Another area of innovation from Zeta is the use of solar power for bollard lighting.

Following successful trials with the sunFLOWER Amenity Light at the Oxford Science Park, Zeta were approached to see if they could use this technology to provide solar powered bollard lighting on the river walk next to Magdalen College.

Collecting solar energy at ground level is difficult due to foliage, buildings and other obstructions which can prevent the solar panel from receiving the amount of sunlight required.

To overcome this potential problem, the Zeta system incorporates a solar collector which is mounted remotely and then linked to a series of bollards providing way marking along the route.

Cost effective, efficient lighting from a renewable energy source.
