H A Marks video on eco modular school extension
H A Marks new video demonstrates how they built a steel-framed building off-site to create a GBP500k primary school extension for Lambeth Education.
H A Mark complete turnkey design and build service, created a volumetric/modular building solution built off-site to produce a substantial structural steel-framed building as an extension at Sunnyhill Primary School, Streatham for Lambeth Education.
The substantial structural steel-framed building, built off-site with Powerwall technology, included 12 pods brought to site and craned in position onto the prepared foundations, saving 12 weeks build time.
Site deliveries were drastically cut, reducing the carbon footprint and overcoming objections to building in an area with restricted access.
The extension included key innovative eco-design features that make it the model for this type of best-value sustainable building.
These included underfloor heating powered by an air source heat pump, passive ventilation and a green Sedam grass roof.
The front elevation, close to the original brick built school, was clad in individual brick slips.
Highly collaborative approach with the school and Lambeth Council resulted in a very successful, sustainable building completed ahead of time and on budget.
It has established H A Marks as the preferred contractor for projects that use Modern Methods of Construction in the education sector, housing, healthcare, hotels, rail and airport construction.
