Z-Led barrier laid at Crocodile Works site

A Z-Led product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 10, 2010

Z-Led has provided a protective barrier for groundworks at a derelict 19th century factory site in Birmingham's industrial heartland.

Z-led's Protect GDB10 membrane is being used across the groundworks of the Crocodile Works development.

Protect GDB10 will prevent any potentially harmful gas and damp from the site from penetrating into the new development.

Protect GDB10 has been laid under and into all ground structural brick and blockwork, and across the whole floor area of the site to be built on.

Protect GDB10 Gas and Damp Barrier stops any methane, carbon dioxide and radon from entering the building, simultaneously providing a damp-proof membrane.

When used as an oversite membrane below floor slabs or suspended floors, it provides a complete solution to compliance with building regulations Part C and BRE Report BR 414 2001, without any need to install an additional damp proof membrane, helping reduce both labour and material costs.

Protect GDB10 is independently assessed as a gas and damp barrier by BRE certification (certificate number 127/07).

The barrier meets the requirements of both the NHBC RSK and CIRIA C665.
