Southway Housing Trust upgrade of its thermally inefficient properties across Withington, Burnage and south Manchester included external wall insulation (EWI) from Wetherby Building Systems that means Manchester now boasts the most extensive use of brick slip cladding in Europe. Wetherby’s Epsiwall and Epsibrick systems were specified, comprising 60mm Phenolic insulation board with WBS Laguna Brick Slips to the full exterior.

DuPont Corian External Cladding (EC) for panelised façade systems offers custom-made panels which can be used to create large, sleek vertical surfaces with inconspicuous seams. Over 70 buildings around the globe, ranging from façades for public buildings to private villas utilised these panelised wall systems.
The Building Centre recently hosted a presentation entitled Concrete Innovations: Lean Lightweight Cladding Solutions. The event was sponsored by Armourcoat and attracted in excess of 250 architects and designers. The presentation focused on Lafarge’s Ductal ultra-high performance concrete which has been developed to create lightweight decorative building façades.
