New durable, lightweight, malleable Fulmetal Rediroll from Glidevale is manufactured from aluminium with a no union design allowing a completely uninterrupted air flow yet maintaining total water resistance. Rediroll fits the majority of ridges and offers a design life in excess of 30 years plus an AA fire rating. Rediroll has no need for difficult ridge unions to seal gaps between ridge tiles, enabling full ventilation to be achieved even on slate roofs.
JB Cedar Shingles chosen as a sustainable natural material for the roof of the visitor centre at Butser Ancient Farm, a Stone Age to late Roman archaeological research site in Hampshire. Canadian research organisations have identified that even with transport, cedar shingles still represent a net carbon sink, plus JB Cedar Shingles come from sustainably managed and PEFC accredited forests.
A total of 400m2 of Sika Liquid Plastics’ Decaflex 10 has been used to protect the roof of Blackpool’s Winter Gardens from wind and rain. Replacing an existing cracked and collapsing asphalt roof, the Decaflex cold applied liquid roofing system was specified for its elasticity and excellent thermal and UV stability. The system was installed in Dark Grey and the client received a ten-year product guarantee.
The roof of the new National Trust Visitor Centre at Northern Ireland’s Giant’s Causeway is being protected by a Hydrotech Hot Melt Waterproofing System from Alumasc. A total of 1,800m2 of the Hydrotech system was specified by Gilbert Ash and installed by GBS Roofing. The hot melt waterproofing system holds European Technical Approval and is BBA accredited. It is suitable for zero falls applications on inverted green roofs and hard landscaped podium structures in new build projects.
