Case study looks at why Jacobs Architecture specified a standing seam VMZINC, caterpillar-shaped roof in pre-weathered Quartz-Zinc for the £4.7 million MyPlace Havering youth centre project. VMZINC PLUS is used to provide a compact warm roof which requires no underside ventilation. The building achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

At its peak, cable theft was costing the UK economy £770million per year but now cable cleat manufacturer, Ellis Patents, has designed and developed a tamper proof cleat to beat the thieves. Their design means thieves will not have the time to remove cables before the police arrive.
