Ronacrete delivers decorative slip resistant floor
Ronadeck Resin Bound Surfacing
Ronacrete has supplied its Ronadeck Resin Bound Surfacing to provide a decorative, slip resistant surface to a sundeck and outdoor pool surround at Weymouth Bay Haven Holiday Park.
Contractors S Carter and Son laid macadam to provide a firm base for the Ronadeck Resin Bound Surfacing, which was then mixed and applied at a thickness of 15mm.
The aggregate blend Combe Haven was used on the sundeck; a mix specially created for Haven Holidays for a similar project at Combe Haven Holiday Park.
Quartz Parallel, another aggregate blend, was used for the pool surrounds.
Ronadeck Resin Bound Surfacing comprises a blend of graded aggregates, selected and formulated for strength and appearance, bound with a two part UV stable, elastic polyurethane resin.
The finished product is permeable and provides a durable surfacing; its permeability prevents pooling of surface water.
Ronadeck resin is unaffected by ultra-violet light so the appearance of the aggregate will remain unaffected as time passes.
Ronadeck Resin Bound Surfacing delivers a natural aggregate appearance.
It is a highly porous material, allowing water to drain and is SUDS compliant.
Recycled aggregates are available and the material complies with the DIN 51130 slip resistance test.
Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics in Cheshire needed surfacing to withstand wear from foot traffic, quad bikes and vans for the pathways to the new Discovery Centre completed in 2011. Landscape architects Grant Associates chose RonaDeck Resin Bound Surfacing as the permeable surfacing to the pathways.
Ronacrete’s RonaDeck Resin Bound Surfacing was used as part of an outdoor learning and education extension project at Christ Church First School in Somerset.
The Barclays Cycle Hire bike docking station (affectionately known as Boris’ bikes) in Shoreditch Park, London is now benefitting from the installation of RonaDeck Resin Bound Surfacing from Ronacrete. The permeable, SuDS compliant paving solution provides an attractive, slip-resistant surface that prevents surface water pooling. The resin used in RonaDeck is resistant to ultra-violet light meaning that it will not darken or yellow.
