Sika has announced the launch of a Major Projects Team, which will bring together the group’s major brands to support architects, consultants and contractors in their project requirements, including design support, specification writing, performance feasibility and sustainability analysis.

The Major Projects Team will bring together expertise from all of the group’s departments from waterproofing concrete and sealing and bonding, to flooring refurbishment and roofing.

The team aid in the specification of integrated solutions, engineered for improvements in the built environment, added value and reduced whole life costs.

Steve Squire, head of Sika Major Projects, commented that the launch of the team will help create a smarter delivery chain to help enhance the performance of a structure and improve build-ability. Delivery partners will also be able to streamline their procurement and technical specification processes.

The Major Project Team will also support customers BIM projects and offer drawing assistance for standard and bespoke details.

Steve said: “The construction sector is firmly focused on improving the built environment and ensuring that sustainability is built in to every scheme. However, delivery partners face substantial cost, time and procurement management challenges: working in partnership with the supply chain can help them address these.

Sika Major Projects Team is committed to working with designers and contractors in a way that will help address those challenges to improve outcomes on both individual projects and across the built environment.”
