Lafarge Aggregates & Concrete UK
sustainability report
Lafarge Aggregates and Concrete UK has published its first sustainability report for its three business units of Aggregates, Readymix and Asphalt and Contracting.
Covering the last four years, the report details past performance and how progress has been made on ambitious targets across key areas of sustainability; people, products and services, partners and communities, legacy and economic.
Called the 5 Capitals Model these sectors are critical to the business's success in ensuring Lafarge helps maintain the world for future generations.
Among the achievements celebrated in the document are the award of the Carbon Trust Standard, the announcement of Lafarge AandC UK (LACUK) as industry leader in health and safety at the Mineral Products Association (MPA) Health and Safety Awards 2009 and the success of Readymix and Aggregates Businesses in gaining the BES 6001 Responsible Sourcing Certificates for all their operations.
The report also offers an insight into the future vision of LACUK with commitments on goals to be reached.
The report is being distributed to stakeholders and can also be downloaded from the Lafarge Aggregates and Concrete UK website.
