One of just thirteen winners at this year’s event, the window drive was launched in the UK in 2013 and has a broad range of application options to fulfil requirements relating to loads, upstroke lengths and opening widths.

The window drive can be used in natural ventilation and smoke and heat extraction units

With a maximum upstroke of 800 millimetres, the aesthetically pleasing Slimchain window drive achieves a large aerodynamic opening width, making it suitable for use in natural smoke and heat extraction devices in line with EN 12101-2.

An ‘all-in-one’ window drive system

Part of the GEZE range of window drives, Slimchain shares the unique design of the Smartfix installation system and is manufactured to provide an ‘all-in-one; solution.

The Slimchain drive has been recognised for its bespoke design previously, being presented with awards in the High Quality and Functionality categories of the Plus X Awards and also being nominated at the German Design Awards.

Founded in 2008, the awards are judged by two panels – one of industry experts and the second of consumers, who aim to recognise well designed and functional products that are versatile, easy to use, demonstrate good use of technology, are suitable for international markets and provide good value for money.
