Forbo Flooring Systems has announced the launch of its Sphera Element range, which has been manufactured using new homogeneous vinyl production techniques.
Developed with Sustainable Modern Advanced Robust Technology (SMART), the Sphera range is suitable for use in public projects where sanitation is essential, such as healthcare environments or education facilities.
The SMART top-finish coating ensures that the new floor covering is resistant to chemicals and stains. Its in-line coating contributes to its overall durability; when tested to EN660-2 standards, the range achieved a rating group T for abrasion wear.
Sphera has been manufactured using Forbo’s new in-house extrusion process, which allows for the creation of multiple chip sizes and shapes. Using its new production techniques, Forbo is able to achieve dimensional stability, setting new standards in homogeneous vinyl flooring.
Designed and manufactured in Europe, the Sphera Element range engages with contemporary colour trends. The range encompasses 62 shades: its neutral tones offer an aesthetic companion for wood and stone accents, whilst its pastels and saturated hues are ideal for vibrant areas.
Forbo aims to produce floor coverings that reflect its dedication to providing healthy internal environments. Its new Sphera Element range reflects this; the flooring, which boasts low emissions, is completely phthalate free.
Almost half of the colours offered within the range have a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of over 40%, to maximise the presence of natural or artificial lighting within a building.
Sphera Element can be combined or co-ordinated with other floor coverings from Forbo, such as its Marmaleum, which is Allergy UK approved, and its Tessera and Flotex textile solutions.
EJOT UK has taken a major step in the expansion of its support for the flat roofing market by appointing one of its most experienced building envelope fastening specialists as its first sector-dedicated business development manager.
