OPTIM-R vacuum insulation panel from Kingspan Insulation

Thermal vacuum insulation panels improved with protective layer

  • 23 Oct 2015

Kingspan Insulation has made it simple to achieve optimum levels of thermal performance with the introduction of a new pre-bonded protective layer for its Kingspan OPTIM-R vacuum insulation panels.

The panels are part of Kingspan’s OPTIM-R range, which has been LABC and BDA approved.

Protective layer for vacuum insulation panels

The protective layer can be bonded to either or both sides of the panel.

It can be fitted directly onto the substrate, eliminating the need for an additional protective sheet.

The pre-bonded OPTIM-R panels can be used to simplify installation in a range of applications.

With a range of thicknesses from 20 mm to 60mm, Kingspan OPTIM-R offers a design (aged and edge) thermal conductivity of 0.007 W/m∙K. Overall, the addition of the protective layer has increased the ease of installation of the vacuum insulation panels.
