Thermally efficient glazing for the Rosewood Park housing development

The Rosewood Park development has achieved thermal efficiency as well as REHAU’s ‘Installation of the Year’ title

REHAU has awarded its first ‘Installation of the Year’ title to the Rosewood Park development.

Built on the site of Essex’s former Severalls Hospital, the development comprises almost 250 properties, including apartments and 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses.

Thermally efficient glazing

Each of the new properties has benefited from the installation of REHAU’s TOTAL70C PVC-U window system and its GENEO composite window and door system.

Solar Windows installed tilt and turn units in REAHU’s window systems.

With triple glazing, the windows are able to achieve a U-value of 1.0W/m²K.

Meanwhile, REHAU’s window and door systems were fitted with low threshold French doors, which are double glazed to reach 1.1W/m²K.

The installation of these units has helped the development achieve its goal of a Level 4 rating under the Code for Sustainable Homes.

Although the focus was on making the homes thermally efficient, each individual frame’s external face was finished in RAL7015 light grey to achieve a uniformed look.

This contributed to the creation of an aesthetically pleasing estate.

Upon completion, the Rosewood Park development was well received: in addition to winning REHAU’s ‘Installation of the Year’, it was also awarded an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award for Jim Nicol, its site manager.
