Wienerberger bricks used in 21 nominated projects at BDA Awards

A total of 21 projects shortlisted at the 2016 Brick Development Associations (BDA) Awards have utilised Wienerberger bricks as part of their development.

The Junction Dungannon is one of five projects that use Wienerberger bricks in the Best Public Building category.

Celebrating it’s 40th anniversary, the BDA Awards recognises the outstanding use of brick across fifteen sponsored categories. The awards will take place at The Hilton Park Lane, London on Thursday 10th November.

Five projects nominated in the Best Public Building category have used Wienerberger bricks: the Emsworth Baptist Church, The Library at Willesden Green (pictured top), The Junction Dungannon, Ballymena Ambulance Station and Eastwood Health & Care Centre.

An additional three Wienerberger projects have been nominated in each of the Best Small Housing Development and Best Outdoor Space categories; whilst its bricks were also used in projects shortlisted in the Best Urban Regeneration, Innovative use of Brick and Clay Products, Specialist Brickwork Contractor, Best Education Building, Best Craftsmanship and Best Commercial Building categories.

Wienerberger’s category marketing manager, Richard Brown, commented: “We’re thrilled to see 21 projects that specified Wienerberger bricks nominated at this year’s awards. The sheer volume of our projects that have been shortlisted demonstrates our commitment to excellence, and the fact that our entries scale ten different categories shows the diversity of the projects we work on. 

We can’t wait for the awards night in November and of course, we wish everyone that’s been shortlisted the best of luck!”
