This years HIP UK Heating Apprentice of the Year award went to 18 year old Tayla Wileman.

Eight finalists from seven regions across the UK attended the grand final. This year was Tayla’s second time in the competition and she was the first female contestant ever to receive the top award.

Tayla comments: “I couldn’t believe it when my name was called out… I had ten minutes left at the end and I was panicking inside that I wouldn’t get the tasks we were set all completed. Now I know I can work to a time limit and get tasks like these completed on time.”

Part of the task set for the finalists included fitting a Wilo-Yonos PICO small circulator as part of the installation, small pumps from Wilo, a regular sponsor of the HIPs competition over the years.
