Case study looks at the rolling programme to install Aico mains powered Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarms throughout Plymouth Community Homes properties. CO alarm features Aico RadioLINK Professional wireless interconnection technology, enabling the alarms to be added to the existing Aico smoke alarm systems already fitted.
In 2010 Swansea City Council chose Aico as the sole supplier of mains powered Multi-Sensor Fire alarms, Optical smoke alarms and CO alarms for its housing stock comprising of 14,000 properties. To date 9,000 homes have been fitted with Smoke and CO alarms with the council reporting reductions in false alarms and minimal failure rates. CO detectors have been linked to Multi Sensor detectors across all homes irrespective of the fuel source.
