ASSA ABLOY: Become a trade partner to grow your business

  • 27 Apr 2022

Kevin Campbell, of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland Door Group, explains how installers can use the company’s Trade Partner Programme and online door design tool to help give their business a welcome boost.

“During the past two years we have all experienced challenges that required us to change how we live, work and, especially, connect with others. One the most significant changes was an unprecedented growth in the use of online services.

Zoom and Teams became common communication tools and online shopping grew by a staggering 48% through 2020-21 (Ofcom). Access to goods and services at the click of a button, anywhere and at any time is now an expectation both for personal needs, but also in business.

Whilst the industry begins its recovery from the impact of COVID-19 and national lockdowns it is still proving to be a challenging time. But having the right support, access to the right tools and efficient connections across the supply chain can provide a competitive edge and deliver a welcome boost for business growth.

Trade Partner Programme

Building strong relationships with customers is a given for business success, but likewise the relationship with suppliers should equally be given a priority. Closer connections within the supply chain help deliver improved efficiency, reduce cost, and importantly help provide the best possible service to customers.

With this in mind, our Trade Partner Programme delivers a host of benefits and practical support to participating businesses, to aid mutual growth and offer installers a commercial edge over their competitors.

Our existing partners enjoy a range of benefits which have helped them grow their businesses. Many of our partners have progressed through our bronze, silver or gold memberships, and availed of dedicated and tailored support from a business development manager.

Through the loyalty program our partners have enjoyed reduced costs, availed of bespoke product training, been given access to the company’s image library, e-catalogue and customised product data sheets, and been helped by specialist and in-person technical support for winning door orders. Trade partners can also receive free product samples and have the option for co-branded literature as well as further point of sale tools and assistance.

Designing your own doorset

Having 24/7-365 connection to the business through our online Design4Doors application offers our partners a hassle-free way to design, price and order bespoke doorsets at the click of a button. Design4Doors is an innovative online application available to all Trade Partners, which allows users to create a door solution that meets a project’s requirements in the simplest and most efficient way, and being online means access even while on the go.

With connection to the internet our users can create bespoke doorset designs from the comfort of their home or office, or even while on a project construction site at any time, of any day – or night.

Solutions are easily configured as the application enables you to input required heights and widths, choose from a variety of frame types, performance specifications and finishes. What’s more, you can add vision panels, louvred options, or hardware solutions. Changes can easily be made at any stage to ensure the final solution satisfies both the project requirements and the customer. The application provides a downloadable detailed drawing and price for each submitted design and provides the option to place an order for the selected requirements.

Through direct integration between Design4Doors and the CNC machinery in our factory, the chosen design can be seamlessly progressed into production. This seamless transition from customer to manufacture reduces risk of error and ultimately shortens lead-times. Better still all orders placed through the online portal are delivered anywhere in mainland UK or Ireland free of charge.

Working together

Ultimately, we understand that by working together we can create mutually beneficial relationships with our network of trade partners, and help installers grow their business for a successful future.
