BioCote protects Autron LST radiators and users

  • 24 Jul 2017

BioCote anti-microbial surface technology will be used to protect the surface of all new Autron LST radiators from Autumn 2016.

BioCote provides an effective, safe and durable solution to combating a wide range of dangerous bacteria, including MRSA and E.coli.

Therefore, Autron LST radiators provide super-efficient, safe surface temperature heating and protect users by reducing the risk of infection transmission when coated in BioCote.

Only products that demonstrate more than a 95% reduction in bacteria are allowed to use the BioCote brand as a guarantee of superior anti-microbial performance. In addition, any additive supplied by BioCote goes through a regular and rigorous externally audited quality control process.

Companies within the Contour Industries Group, Autron Heating Products and sister organisation, Contour, have exclusive licence to use BioCote as anti-microbial protection on their LST and anti-ligature radiators & guards.

Various LST radiator and guard manufacturers now offer anti-microbial protection on their products. However, very few provide regular independent verification of their claims as to the efficacy of their anti-microbial protection.

BioCote undertakes a regular schedule of independent laboratory-based QC testing to ensure the continual efficacy of products treated with their technology. The latest certification confirms the efficacy of BioCote on treated LST radiators and guards, with measured reductions in E Coli CFU counts of ≥ 99.91% and a reduction in MRSA bacteria of ≥ 99.94%.
