Brick production experiencing significant growth as economy recovers

  • 14 Jul 2014

The government’s Help to Buy Scheme has been cited by Simon Hay, CEO of the BDA, as a reason for the growth, with a total of 19,401 homes completed to date and housing completions expected to reach approximately 135,000 in 2014.

The brick industry has seen sharp rises in production, employment and investment in machinery and logistics, with deliveries showing a growth of nearly 12% from 1,551 million in 2012 to 1,736 million in 2013.
