The company will construct two new bungalows and carry out repairs

Mansfield District Council has commissioned Novus to build two new bungalows, including one wheel-chair accessible property, on Bonington Road in the city, following the removal of several neglected garages which previously occupied the site.

The bungalows are being built following Lifetime Homes guidelines to ensure that homes can be easily adapted for lifetime use at minimal costs, with the work being valued at £350,000 and expected to be completed in March.

The wheelchair accessible bungalow features adjustable height worktops, a sink and hob in the kitchen, whilst Novus operatives will also carry out plumbing, electric, joinery, painting and decorating work.

Novus has also secured a contract with housing provider Flagship in East Anglia to provide pre-paint repairs and painting services to approximately 2,000 properties in the area.

Around 40 Novus operatives will carry out the work during a six month period, holding daily meetings with Flagship representatives about the work.
