Biosite Systems Ltd, a leader in biometric access control and software solutions for the UK construction industry, has been acquired by the ASSA ABLOY Group, in a move to support domestic growth and boost global expansion.
Biosite will help to spearhead ASSA ABLOY’s new construction vertical as part of ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, offering electronic access, software and identity solutions.
The news follows a record period of growth for Biosite – with revenue tripling in the last three years and sales in 2019 amounting to £14 million.
Li Wang, MD, commented: “With a shared vision to improve construction productivity through digitisation, a partnership with ASSA ABLOY made perfect sense. As the global leader in access solutions, ASSA ABLOY has the means and reach to enable us to achieve our ambitious growth plans, whilst giving us autonomy to develop the innovative technology-enabled solutions we are known for.”
Nico Delvaux, President and CEO of ASSA ABLOY, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Biosite and their employees into the ASSA ABLOY Group. Biosite is a strategic technological addition to the ASSA ABLOY Group. The company will reinforce our current offering within solutions for access control and will provide complementary growth opportunities.”
Christophe Sut, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Solutions at ASSA ABLOY, added: “Biosite offers leading biometric access and workforce management solutions to the construction sector; maximising security and safety whilst providing full visibility to material, design plans – and people flow on site. Combining hardware, software and services the company is a very good fit with ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions.
“I’m excited for the future and what we can achieve collaboratively with Biosite to support the digital transformation of the construction industry, both in the UK and globally,” says Samuel Asarnoj VP New Business & Head of the Construction Vertical in ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions.”
