Crown Paints added a splash of colour to Newry, as it opened its new Crown Decorating Centre (CDC) in the city earlier this month.
After acquiring the former Paintz premises at Green Bank Loughway Business Park, Crown Paints opened the doors to its new store, which is the ninth CDC to open in Northern Ireland.
The CDC officially opened on Friday 9th September.
Former owner of Paintz, Patrick O’Reilly, was on hand to cut the ribbon with Crown Paints Regional Operations Manager Valerie Parke beside him.
Prior to its opening, Crown Paints gave the store a brand new makeover to utilise floor space most effectively and accommodate more products and stands to better serve customers.
While the name of the store may have changed, customers can expect to see familiar faces, with former Paintz employees Ronan O’Reilly, taking the position of Store Manager, and the ‘King of Colour’ John Marshall, both on hand to provide expert advice and service.
Crown Paints Product Champion Derek Maloney and trade suppliers including Arc Mirka, Coovar, Global, Hamilton, Relay, Rodo and Wagener attended on the opening day to offer support and advice to customers.
The store offers a wide range of Crown brands including Sandolin, Sandtex, Crown Trade & Macpherson paint, as well as incorporating crafted colour stands where staff will be available to provide expert service and advice.
The store also offers Crown Paints’ Can Back initiative, which allows customers to return their empty cans all year round so they can be processed for recycling.
Ronan O’Reilly, CDC Newry Store Manager, says: “It’s incredibly exciting to open a CDC in Newry and it’s a fantastic addition to the network here in Northern Ireland. Everyone is really looking forward to becoming a part of this fantastic community.
“The store has gone under a total transformation with the refurbishment which we hope our customers will enjoy, and with a wide selection of products available, as well as expert staff on hand, we have Newry tradespeople covered for whatever project they’re embarking on.”
