Forklift safety tackled with affordable tagging solution

  • 2 Nov 2015

To help to improve forklift safety on site, Scafftag has launched Forkliftag, a tagging solution which has been developed to record pre-shift inspections, maintenance and identification of forklift trucks.

Over the years, research has revealed that a large proportion of workplace transport accidents are caused by forklift trucks.

It is essential that forklifts are suitable for use; they must have regular maintenance and workplace checks to ensure that they are able to carry out their duties safely and efficiently.

Forkliftag tagging solution for forklift safety

Scafftag’s Forkliftag has been developed to assist with the recording of pre-shift inspections, as well as the maintenance and identification of forklift trucks.

The tagging solution makes use of Scafftag’s Holder and Insert system to ensure that the latest equipment status is instantly visible; the Tag Holder is permanently fixed onto the vehicle, where it can be easily accessed by the user.

The Forkliftag Insert is used to record the pre-shift inspection with a checklist, which needs to be completed by the first user or at the start of each shift to ensure that the vehicle is suitable for use.

If the forklift passes inspection, the Insert is placed in the holder to indicate that the vehicle is fit for use. The Insert can be simply removed, should there be any concern about the status of the forklift; in this instance, ‘Do Not Use’ will be instantly displayed on the Tag Holder.
