Geberit AquaClean – a luxury experience at the Hux Hotel London

  • 4 May 2023

The Hux Hotel is a boutique hotel in Kensington, London, which aims to provide an unforgettable experience for its guests. The hotel, established in 2020, has 32 rooms and focuses on delivering a stay that goes beyond just a peaceful night’s sleep. The hotel offering includes live music, food and cocktails, all created with the aim that it isn’t just a place rest your head, but a destination guests want to return to.

One of the often-overlooked rooms in a hotel is the guest bathroom, and Hux Hotel CEO, Ben Patrick, believes that creating a relaxing, luxurious feel in this space is crucial. This article sees Ben outline his thoughts on the recent Geberit AquaClean addition at the Hux Hotel…

“Co-founder Scott and I have meticulously designed the guest room layout and themes to make sure guests have a memorable experience at the Hux Hotel, including in the bathroom. From our elegant black ceilings and colourful jungle themed décor to our powerful shower pressure and high-quality appliances, every aspect of the hotel has been thoughtfully planned out to provide our guests with a truly exceptional stay.

The main challenge

We wanted to incorporate bidets in our hotel guest bathrooms. However, in the past we have experienced leaking problems, misuse and breakage issues with traditional bidets. We also wanted a stylish solution that would look great in our suites. That’s when we discovered the Geberit AquaClean shower toilet and instantly wanted to find out more about installing one in our Huxy Suite.

The AquaClean solution

We chose the Geberit AquaClean Mera Comfort for its slick, integrated design, the unique heated seat and its gentle, natural cleaning with water function. The shower toilet gives guests a fresh out-of-the-shower feeling and combines convenience, design and sustainability with quality to create an aesthetically pleasing and innovative bathroom solution.

We also really liked that the Geberit AquaClean shower toilets are equipped with an intuitive remote control, making it simple to use for our guests. Unpleasant odours are detected immediately and are neutralised, which adds another level of comfort too.

Hux Hotel results

Usually, guests wouldn’t bring up the toilet when providing us with feedback about their stay. Generally, people tend not to talk about the WC, unless there’s a problem. However, since we’ve installed the Geberit AquaClean, people can’t get enough. A shower toilet is the opposite of what people expect in their hotel bathroom and it creates a luxury vibe that can’t be replicated with a standard toilet. A unique, extravagant feel runs throughout the Hux Hotel, and the guest bathroom now reflects that vibe too, which we couldn’t be happier about.

The installation of the AquaClean was simple and we’ve had an exceptional experience with the Geberit team from initial conversations to purchase and aftercare.

The AquaClean is a slick, well-designed, and robust product that has become a talking point among guests and I would definitely recommend it to other hoteliers.”
