Geberit has launched an exciting new design competition, where three UK based architects will go head-to-head in a bid to be crowned the overall winner of ‘The Geberit Bathroom Design Challenge’.
A key part of Geberit’s ‘inspiring bathrooms, designed for life’ ethos, the competition will see representatives from Great Britain each design a functional and space optimised room. The competition centres around creating a realistic family bathroom, taking into account the size of an average household bathroom but also the wants and needs of the modern consumer.
The three coveted architects practices have been briefed to design a realistic 6m x 6m bathroom for a residential development. Office S&M, Nimtim architects and White Red, will each be judged by a panel of design experts, which includes J-J Lorraine (Morrow + Lorraine), Maria Cheung (Squire & Partners), Tina Norden (Conran and Partners) and Lynne Clapham Carter, Geberit’s Speciation Manager.
Sophie Weston, Channel Marketing Manager at Geberit comments: “Designing a small bathroom in an appealing, functional and space-optimised manner is no easy task. When designing their bathrooms, the architects will need to consider clever floor plans to maximise the space available and also select suitable products, materials, and colours that will work together to create an oasis of wellbeing that meets the needs of their clients.”
The winner of ‘The Geberit Bathroom Design Challenge’ will then represent Great Britain in a pan-European competition where they will compete against architects from five other countries: Denmark, Germany, France, Switzerland and the Czech Republic/Slovakia to design the best small space.
The final winning design from the European competition will feature in a Geberit 2022 photoshoot and will be announced after a vote by consumers and social media followers.
