The ‘best yet’ is how Gilberts Blackpool is describing its latest range of smoke evacuation dampers for multi-storey buildings.
The UK’s market leader in the sector is taking its reputation to new heights, with its new Series 60 smoke evacuation damper range.
Believed to be the only vent of its kind designed and manufactured in the UK, Series 60 offers what Gilberts claims will the biggest standard range of EN12101-8 compliant fire-tested dampers.
The initial launch provides seven sizes, from 440mm x 440mm up to 1000mm x 1125mm, and all CE marked to EN12101-8; further sizes in just 1mm increments will follow.
Series 60 combines a low leakage rate and high free area when open to deliver high smoke evacuation rates. Activation (by powered motor) is triggered to open the damper on the fire floor for smoke evacuation, whilst all other dampers failsafe close to protect the rest of the building. The damper will give 120 minutes’ fire integrity.
Manufactured from galvanised steel with intumescent material and gaskets within, Series 60 has passed all relevant smoke and fire tests (EN12101-8 and EN1366-10), retaining its integrity and performance when incorporated into evacuation shafts and risers.
An easy fit, cover grille completes the installation. A range of bespoke- designed fascia grilles are available are standard; further decorative versions are available if preferred. Cover grilles can be screwed into place or secured with a concealed fixing option.
Ian Rogers, Gilberts Sales Director, commented: “Gilberts is already the market leader in the supply of evacuation dampers, with a reputation for innovation.
“Series 60 is our best smoke damper yet, in terms of performance and ease of use. It gives customers the peace of mind that they are meeting, if not surpassing, the very latest current Standards for smoke ventilation in multi-storey buildings.”
The Series 60 smoke damper is the latest evolution from Gilberts, established as the UK’s leading independent air movement engineering specialist.
It builds on the company’s 60 years heritage of bringing to market advanced technology that enhances the design, installation, energy efficiency and occupier comfort of non- domestic buildings.
All products – standard lines and bespoke solutions – are designed, developed, manufactured and tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001:2015 quality standard in Gilberts’ state of the art 95,000 square foot facility in Blackpool.
