Granada Secondary Glazing‘s new dedicated operation in Scotland will serve the rising demand for specific secondary glazing solutions in all types of buildings North of the Border.
As specialists in insulating the UK’s listed and conservation-controlled building stock, Granada has a number of Scottish projects in its portfolio, bringing both older and newer buildings up to date from a thermal and acoustic performance perspective.

With their Edinburgh office opening this month, Mike Latham, from Commercial Sales at Granada Secondary Glazing, explains how the region’s architects and specifiers will be offered their full turn key solution, with delivery by a local team based in the capital city.
“Having spoken to a number of clients and potential clients in Scotland, they really welcome the fact that we can now offer our market-leading secondary glazing products and services from a Scottish-based location,” Mike says.
Edinburgh-based Senior Project Manager David Glasgow heads up a team comprising a surveyor, project manager and two installation teams. They provide a full secondary glazing surveying, design and installation service across Scotland.
Mike continues: “David is our ‘Mr Scotland’ who brings a wealth of experience to serving the Scottish market. Our facility has the full weight and support of our South Yorkshire HQ behind it, with the design, project management and installation process all being handled locally by Scots.”
A key element in Granada’s secondary glazing services for the Scottish market is ready access to window refurbishment for timber sash and case windows, which predominantly feature in Scotland’s listed and historic buildings.

Granada’s Secondary glazing at the Eden Locke Hotel, a design-led aparthotel on George Street in the heart of Edinburgh, means guests can enjoy a quiet and comfortable stay.
The Victorian building is also Category B listed by Historic Environment Scotland, marking it as of special architectural or historic interest.
Granada’s secondary glazing reduces traffic noise intrusion, a critical insulation requirement to minimise noise complaints. High performing 10.8mm acoustic glass to blocks low-frequency noise often emitted by vehicles.
When installed with a tightly sealed frame, correctly specified acoustic glazing will greatly reduce the volume from external sources.
Heritage 2-pane horizontal sliders were powder coated in RAL 7012 (Basalt Grey) satin finish and RAL 9910 (Brilliant White) matt finish to suit the surrounding décor with 50 windows across 27 rooms treated.
Granada’s close liaison with managers and blocking a small number of rooms per day to a pre-agreed schedule meant the hotel could maintain occupancy levels during installations.
