Handmade peg and plain clay tiles add value to projects

Tudor Roof Tiles historically authentic range of handmade peg and plain clay tiles add value to new build projects as well as complementing older styled or period properties in conservation areas.

Made from the finest English clay, these traditional sand faced clay tiles have an ‘instant aged’, time weathered appearance with subtle variations in shape, camber and colour, which mirror the randomly individualistic look of the original antique tiles.

Paul Lythgoe, Managing Director of Tudor Roof Tile Co Ltd: “We are delighted to have received this prestigious ‘Build It’ award. Such recognition clearly demonstrates the aesthetic importance of traditionally manufactured handmade peg and plain tiles and the value which continues to be placed on high standards of workmanship.”

Combining age old craftsmanship with modern performance benefits

Tudor roof tiles are carefully hand pressed, moulded and trimmed, and then strengthened by advanced firing techniques, in order to give the final products exceptional durability.

  • manufactured in both bespoke and standard sizes to complement historic and regional variations
  • available with round or square peg holes or with nibs on the underside to suit both modern and historic forms of construction
  • made in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001:2000
  • tested to BS EN 538:1994 for strength
  • tested to BS EN 539-2:1998 for frost resistance

Tudor roof tiles are available from leading roofing and builders merchants.
