Hemsec aids the first major UK cheese production investment in 40 years

A new £6 million facility has been built for South Caernarfon Creameries Ltd and was officially opened by the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall in 2016.

It is the first major cheese production investment in the UK for 40 years and has enabled to company to increase their capacity from 9,500 tonnes to 12,000 tonnes of cheese per annum. 

2000m2 of Hemsec Panel Technology (HPT) Control 30 fire rated panels, 100 and 125mm thick were used, in addition to 500m2 of 50mm thick HPT Control wall panels. 125mm ceiling panels were incorporating into a 30 minute fire rated corridor. 

Seven distinct areas were created within the facility: Milk processing and storage, cream and butter, cheese processing, ingredients, plant, FLT charging and changing rooms.

McVeigh Projects Ltd supplied and installed the sites controlled environments, utilising large quantities of HPT Control insulated panels within a variety of internal build-ups.
