Hemsec team strengthens on the customer front

  • 4 Oct 2019

Hemsec continues to strengthen its team, as it attracts further interest from a global construction industry seeking new solutions.

Jo Cunningham, who has been part of the Hemsec team for 11 years, moves from sales administration to Internal Sales and Kate Miller joins to take over Jo’s former role. Prior to joining Hemsec, Jo worked for 17 years in shipping sales, and had already developed the sales admin role to become increasingly involved in sales, handling quotes, orders and customer queries.

Jo’s new role sees her handle pre-sales and customer service, working with the Marketing team on lead generation and follow-up, onboarding new customers, ensuring they are happy with deliveries and handling queries.

Jo commented on her new role: “I am excited about helping the sales team to get orders over the line, and customers appreciate it when I help them to make things happen.”

“It’s a family company that has family values and everyone here has gelled over many years. We are a base on which the company is building. I am excited about the vision that the MD has for the company, and the founder is a gentleman who always comes in and says ‘hello’. To me, this makes Hemsec that little bit special – it’s not all about money, it’s got more depth than that. And because we are not a huge corporate, we treat everyone as the best customer in the world,” she added.

For Kate Miller, working in manufacturing is a new departure after a career in finance. She supports customers with a friendly service, saying: “I talk to clients in a way that’s both friendly and professional. I am all about picking up the phone – I know a lot has to be done by email these days, but nothing beats a quick, friendly phone call for building relationships.”

Kate was attracted to Hemsec because it’s a change from finance, and because she can use her expertise in database work to help embed the company’s new Sales Force CRM software.
