James Latham, one of the UK’s largest independent trade distributors of timber, panels and decorative surfaces, has won a national woodworking award for its Finish Line Cladding Collection.
The business won the Process Efficiency Award, sponsored by PIB Insurance Brokers, at the 13th annual British Woodworking Federation (BWF) Awards.
The ceremony celebrated the best of the best in UK woodworking, recognising technical innovation, design, process efficiencies, health & safety and the rising stars on the industry.
James Latham was chosen as the winner of the prestigious award in recognition of the factory finished nature, materials selection, and resulting extended maintenance periods delivered by its Finish Line Cladding Collection.
Helen Hewitt, Chief Executive of the BWF, comments: “The quality of entries for the Process Efficiency Award were exceptionally high but James Latham stood out from the competition.
“The project was a well-researched and meticulously conducted process which remained faithful to the design brief while achieving optimum results.”
She adds: “The BWF Awards celebrate the outstanding talent and skills in the woodworking and joinery sector, and I want to congratulate all our winners who continue to push the boundaries in our sector.
“Every year I’m amazed at the hard work, innovation and incredible skill that is demonstrated in our sector and it gives me so much pride at what is achieved.
“This was a fantastic opportunity to bring the industry together once again and celebrate the success and exciting achievements of all of our finalists.”
Stuart Devoil, Group Head of Marketing at James Latham, says: “We’ve long prided ourselves in considering process efficiency at James Latham so to see this recognised at such a prestigious award ceremony is testament to the hard work the team has put in, not only in this project but across the board.”
The prize was presented at a celebratory awards evening held at the Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. A full list of the winners at this year’s BWF Awards can be found at https://www.bwf.org.uk/awards-2021/
