Kestrel Aluminium: Sliding rooflight enhances the development of highly sought-after roof space

  • 20 Apr 2022

Specialist manufacturers and installers Alu Windows & Doors Ltd has specified Kestrel Aluminium Systems to provide the perfect roof access solution for a stylish three-storey property in the heart of London.

The bespoke sliding rooflight installed provides easy access to the flat roof terrace and brings extra natural daylight and ventilation to the rooms below.

The electrically operated unit operates silently at the touch of a button and can either open fully for access or partially for plentiful ventilation.

The design is especially suited for applications involving a fixed staircase and provides a traditional look with all the advantages of a thermally broken aluminium construction with slimline glazing bars resulting in more glass being visible.

Kestrel Aluminium roofing systems were specified throughout and used in conjunction with low U-value double glazed units to ensure the rooflight is secure and energy-efficient. All profiles were powder coated to provide a superior finish in both appearance and durability.

With space at a premium, particularly in urban settings the development of highly sought-after roof space has enhanced the value of the property and provided an additional outdoor social area.
