Kingspan Industrial Insulation has supplied a slimline pipe insulation system to an exclusive residential development in London, which will result in thermal conductivities as low as 0.025 W/m·K.
Fitzroy Place has been constructed around the first new square in the W1 area for over a century. The development is made up of 235 residences, luxury stores, a restaurant and office space, in a construction overseen by Sir Robert McAlpine.
Energy efficiency was an important part of the building’s development, with both office buildings receiving interim ‘Excellent’ BREEAM ratings.
To ensure that building services performed to the highest environmental standards, PM Insulation and KAG Insulation installed the Kingspan Kooltherm FM Pipe Insulation System on the hot and cold water pipework throughout the development.
Kooltherm FM Pipe Insulation is a slim-line product that reduces heat transmission from pipework, providing installers with more room to work when fitting the product in tight areas.
The BDA-certified product has a best in class Euroclass Reaction to Fire performance of BL,s1,d0 and FM Approval to Class 4924, in addition to a Green Guide Summary Rating of A/A+. It is also manufactured to a BS EN ISO 14001:2004 scheme.
Kingspan Kooltherm Insulated Pipe Supports were supplied alongside the pipe insulation system to further reduce heat loss from pipework, by a factor of ten when compared with wooden block supports.
Kooltherm FM Pipe Insulation is the only product of its kind to hold a national LABC Warranty and LABC Registered Detail and has been awarded a best in class Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort Gold certificate.
In addition to its free Pipeline Technical Advisory Service, Kingspan provides Premier and Premier Plus Services which support the purchases of Kingspan Kooltherm FM Pipe Insulation and the Kooltherm FM Complete Pipe Insulation System (which incorporates Kooltherm FireSleeves).
The services offer clear advice and guidance at every stage in a project, from initial specification through to site visits and certification.
