New Volt Stick Bright non-contact instant voltage tester

Sagab by Elma launched this latest version of the Volt Stick after introducing the original, non-contact instant voltage tester over 30 years ago.

The new Volt Stick Brightis more accurate, provides clearer indication and is more versatile than the original with a range of new features that make it a toolbox essential for anyone needing to test for the presence of AC voltage in cables, wall sockets, fuses, circuit breakers and junction boxes.

First digital tester in the range

The new VoltStick Bright is the first digital tester in the range, making it the most accurate instant voltage tester on the market. It is also unique among its competitors in that it features interchangeable dual-sensitivity settings (switchable by user from standard 230v range to high sensitivity 24v range), whilst also including an integrated bright white LED flashlight, as well as more powerful LED and sound indicators. An integral digital microprocessor ensures higher accuracy and on-board function testing.

VoltStick Bright features two switchable test ranges:

  • standard 230v range that is always active
  • high sensitivity 24v range

CIE-Group have been the UK distribution partners for the range since its launch.

Brent Hill, VoltStick Product Manager for CIE-Group: “VoltStick Bright has been upgraded with new features to make it even more indispensable than before, squeezing so much more technology and functionality into the same familiar ‘pen-sized’ device.”

LED flashlight illuminates area to be tested

A new feature is the white LED flashlight which has been integrated into the tip of the device, which provides illumination of the area to be tested as opposed to comparative devices which often have a ‘rear end’ flashlight.

When the Bright detects a voltage, the newly improved red LED indicator now lights up even brighter and the equally improved sound indicator provides a clear, loud buzz to provide both visual and audible indication of AC voltage being present.

Also, thanks to the on-board microprocessor, a full function check & battery check is carried out instantly, each time the Volt Stick Bright is used (delivering an ‘SOS’ flash from the tester tip should any on-board issues be detected).

Summary of key features:

  • Non-contact voltage testing
  • Locates breaks in cables and detects blown fuses
  • Distinguishes between live and neutral wires
  • 2 x sensitivity ranges – standard 230v and high sensitivity 24v
  • Integrated white tip end LED flashlight
  • Always active – no need to switch device on and off
  • On-board microprocessor for high accuracy testing
  • Internal battery and function testing
  • Universal flat tip fits most electrical sockets worldwide
  • Powerful and improved LED and sound indicators
  • Long battery life – 1 to 2 years
  • UL and CE approved
