The Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) has given approval to Protan’s Basic Competency Training Programme (BCP), which supports the completion of a full Level 2 Single Ply NVQ and blue Skilled Worker Card.

Hosted at Protan’s in-house training facility in Warrington, the BCP provides Protan’s contractor partners with expert training on how to install a single ply membrane.

The programme ensures that Protan’s contractor partners have a full knowledge of its single ply systems to deliver solutions that will perform for decades to come.

Commenting on the BCP, Cathie Clarke of the SPRA said: “SPRA approval for BCP demonstrates the quality and value of manufacturers’ training and shows how it can support achievement of a full Level 2 qualification in single ply roofing for trainees.

We hope that the Protan BCP will encourage skills growth within the industry, and result in a significant increase in skilled and qualified single ply operatives in the workplace.”

The Basic Competency Training Programme (BCP) is one of many courses held at Protan’s training facility in Warrington. The company also offers single-day conversion programmes for roofers already experienced using other single ply systems, and three-day intensive courses that cover all aspects of single ply roof construction and installation.
