Schlüter illuminated profiles used on Longvale feature staircase

  • 16 Nov 2016

Schlüter-LIPROTEC illuminated profiles have been used in with Schlüter-TREP stair nosing by industrial sensor specialist Longvale to create a unique lighting design for its feature staircase within the entrance of the company’s new facility in Burton-upon-Trent.

Schlüter-LIPROTEC combines lighting and profiles within a tile and stone covering, with a choice of indirect or direct light available, to highlight curtain walls and illuminate stairways, foyes, bathrooms etc.

The profiles feature LED strips controlled with intelligent receivers and power supply units that convert the mains voltage to the required 24V.

The LED strips allow for pre-programmed colour changes, which can be selected using the control system, with up to 16 million programmable colours to choose from. The strips are completely encapsulated and conform with IP65, making them suitable for moisture-rich rooms.

For the Longvale installation, carried out by Bruton Interiors of Derby, Schlüter-LIPROTEC-PB with indirect and direct light was used in conjunction with Schlüter-TREP-E stair nosing profile in a brushed stainless steel finish.

Schluter-TREP improves staircase safety and protects installation to keep the edges of the tile or stone covering intact.
